Porto Card
It is a card that identifies the Oporto citizens and allows them to enjoy a set of advantages and benefits in accessing the experiences and services of the Municipality. You will have special prices and privileges on museums, public libraries, cultural events, and more. If you are wondering how much it is, the answer is the best possible: the card is free.
Passe Andante
Oporto has a nice public transportation network. However, it is important to purchase the Passe Andante in order to not pay for each trip. The Passe Andante has two options, while the 1st one costs 30€ and allows you to travel within 3 different zones around the city. The second option, which is totally worth it, costs 40€ and allows you to circulate all around the city and its zones.
Mobile Operators
Portugal has a lot of mobile telephone providers such as Vodafone, MEO, and NOS. However, these companies have “secondary” brands which have lower prices, especially if you are under 25. Search for Yorn, WTF, and Moche, and have access to special prices and offers. All companies have their own benefits, so take a look at those and choose the best option for you.
Supermarket Cards
Almost every supermarket brand in Portugal has its own cards, which allows you to have discounts on your purchases made directly from the supermarket, and also in other places such as restaurants, gas stations, and more.
Student Residences
Finding a place to live can be difficult when moving to a new city. The landlords ask for different documents, the bills at the end could be a surprise, and in many cases, the conditions are not the best. By choosing a student residence, you will have an all-inclusive monthly rent, with the best infrastructure you might have.
