The Best Beaches to go in Oporto
Oporto has become one of the best destinations for vacation, working, and studying. The city is famous for its tiled facades, Francesinhas, and its historical places. However, when thinking about beaches, you may think Portugal only offers great beaches in Lisbon or Algarve and this is not right. We’ve selected amazing beaches for you to visit in Oporto.
Praia do Mindelo
Located in Vila do Conde, 30 minutes away from Oporto, this beach has a great sand extension, perfect for hanging out with friends. Different from many other beaches in the north, Praia do Mindelo is protected from the summer wind called “Nortadas”.
Praia do Senhor da Pedra
Elected in 2015 by the European Best Destination as one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. One of the attractions is the Chapel of “Senhor da Pedra”. This amazing beach is located in Vila Nova de Gaia, and it is a great option for a sunny day.
Praia de Moreiró
Located in a rural area with a winding path, this beach would have everything to be a secret spot. However, everyone who visits this beach falls in love with it and returns. On the weekends it could be crowded. It is totally worth it, with shades of blue and white, it becomes an amazing beach to visit.
Praia de Matosinhos
If you are looking for a beach easy to access, with plenty of space, different options to eat or drink, and great for sports, Matosinhos could be the perfect place.
