Lisbon has a well-connected public transportation network. You can go from Lisbon to Setubal or Sintra for example by using your monthly pass. However, it is important to purchase the 40€ card, which gives access to all public transports around the city. You can choose the 30€ option, but it is for sure much more limited and the 10€ difference totally worth it!
Stand ahead in the Metro
Still talking about transports, sometimes the metro could be really tricky. Especially during the night and sometimes on the weekends, the metro circulates with half capacity. So, if you are waiting for the next train at the end of the station, you will have to run to catch it. So, pay attention to the signals which will indicate if the next train only has 3 wagons, in other words, only half train.
Mobile Operators
Portugal has a lot of mobile telephone providers such as Vodafone, MEO, and NOS. However, these companies have “secondary” brands which have lower prices, especially if you are under 25. Search for Yorn, WTF, and Moche, and have access to special prices and offers. All companies have their own benefits, so take a look at those and choose the best option for you.
Supermarket Cards
Almost every supermarket brand in Portugal has its own cards, which allows you to have discounts on your purchases made directly from the supermarket, and also in other places such as restaurants, gas stations, and more.
Student Residences
Finding a place to live can be difficult when moving to a new city. The landlords ask for different documents, the bills at the end could be a surprise, and in many cases, the conditions are not the best.
