Autumn started last week, and it is time to say goodbye to the beaches and the sunny days, and start to see the leaves falling, changing scenarios, bringing new colours and a different atmosphere to the cities.
Living in Oporto you might need to take a jacket off your wardrobe, as the temperatures start to decrease in Autumn. Oporto has a lot to offer during the entire year, and it wouldn’t be different in Autumn.
Here it goes a list of what you could do during an Autumn day in Oporto:
**Parks and Gardens **
Parque de Serralves, Palácio de Cristal, and The Botanical Garden are amazing places to visit during the autumn in Oporto. The Parque de Serralves hosts an Autumn party with great food and music. The Palácio de Cristal is also incredible for a walk, through its different routes, even including a maze (Jardim dos Sentimentos). Finally, the Botanical Garden is one of the most beautiful places to visit and it is totally worth it.
**Miradouros **https://xior.pt
With the temperature starting to decrease, it is a great time to explore the sunset spots we already told you about a few blog posts ago. It is not too hot or cold, and the sky is just perfect during this season, creating a fairy tale scenario for you to enjoy and maybe take some pictures.
**Dia de São Martinho **
During Autumn in Oporto, you can take part in the São Martinho celebrations, where many people get together and make “magusto” on the streets. There is no need to be shy, just come around and join the party!
**Harvest (Vindima) at the Douro **
If you are planning to spend some time in Oporto during the Autumn, you must put in your travel itinerary to visit the Douro region which is just amazing during this season, with its colours and with the Harvest season. The hills are full of grapes, ready to be harvested. Some wine producers also allow the visitors to join this experience of grape harvesting.
**Xior Campus Asprela Garden **
Our residence in Oporto also has a private garden, full of green and trees, where you can spend some time just appreciating nature, and its colours during Autumn.
The truth is every little corner in Oporto will have something to offer during Autumn. Wherever you are, it will be a great place to have a coffee, a glass of wine, or maybe have brunch with one of the desserts of the season. The options are endless, and we hope to help you spend a great time here.
